Parent of the Month for April/May 2019 is… Devon Snower

April 11, 2019 0 comments

Devon Snower from our very own Mom Bomb family. We admit we have been a bit behind on the updates. Our apologies to you as we were changing vendors and updating some contracts. Please enjoy regular POM announcements each month after this amazing gem below!!!

Devon Snower is pretty much my savior with being another parent in my household (Ms King here). Whether it was being a supportive parent figure to being my sons friend. She has always been there for me and I am forever grateful to that.
Now on to Ms Snower. She is a proud mother of Ayden pictured here. From football to basketball game coverage and keeping this little guy in check she has also been a huge inspiration to many. Working by day and at night plus school she has packed herself full of projects and successes. A beautiful caring person who helps not only our company but her partners new shop WWAZ. Keeping up with good morals, teaching not only our youth on physical education but our adults here as well.
Devon is an amazing friend, honest and loving. Supportive and strong she tells you like it is and gives her all to those she loves. We are super excited for her journey back into the fitness competition world so stay tuned as we take you along in the adventure.

To Devon, thank you for being my rock in the past 4 plus years. Thank you for loving me as a sister like a bond we can never break. Thank you for calling me out on my shit and thank you for just being you and supporting all around you. Know how amazing of a woman you are and how proud I am to call you my soulmate.

To My Sabastian!

As I lay here
With you in my womb
My heart is filled with happiness
Yet my mind is so confused
The thought of being a mother causes me so much fear
What if I cant take care of you
Once you are here
Once you are here I wish for you the life
That I have not had
To live in a world
That knows no bad I asked God to be beside you
No matter where you go
To teach you to love and respect
Everyone you know
To take his strength and make it your own
To know yourself and to know your home
I love you my little one
Though you are not yet here
I cannot wait for the day
That is Oh, so near!

Parent of the Month for December 2018 is… Deanne Snider

December 10, 2018 0 comments

Deanne Snider is the hardest working mama I’ve ever seen. Not only does she train in weight lifting regularly, she is a full time single parent, has a full time job, and is still able to chauffeur the little around to his extracurricular activities.  She is a breast cancer survivor and the toughest, most bad ass, heavily tattooed woman I’ve met.

Nelma Jean Hix AKA Gina Bobeana

As a newborn she was adopted by the adult children of the doctor who delivered her. Her adopted and only mother she knew was a rough around the edges Texan business owner, Her father was a Jolly Green Giant of sorts and a mechanic. Nelma met her husband at the age of 17, and he was much older at the age of 35. He was on the road and had many other jobs, she at home taking care of land and animals with two daughters, she maintained school and owned her own hair salon called “The Hair Doctors”, in Arizona.

A tough woman that did her best, and kept her heart of gold through tough and desperate times. After moving from Arizona to San Diego to live on a boat, she then went back to school while maintaining the home duties still. She became a nurse, and worked in hospitals, as well as prisons in her 40’s.

Later in life she was diagnosed with cancer, sadly and very shortly after her husband died of lung cancer. She taught her children to keep their head up in any situation, work hard, and to do it right or don’t do it at all. She taught her girls: You can be a loving wife and have dinner on the table when your man comes home from work if you’re staying to take care of the home base. You can also go to school and be a business woman, and have a career. You can do it all just put your mind to it!

You can be a loving mother, make mistakes like every parent does, but do your best, teach your children ethics, morals, integrity, and strength.  She did this while instilling the word of God, as she was a woman of faith. Yet still a woman that makes mistakes, but has put her heart into everything she has approached and a lot to be proud of!

Dennis Ruiz

I nominated Dennis Ruiz this month due to the amazing father I have seen him be. He has such a great story to share and I was super excited he said yes to doing this. I asked him to write a bio and tell us a bit about him and the kids. Huge shout out to our dads!!!!

I don’t know what it is I’m trying to say I’m not very good at this but I’m going to give it a shot because a good friend of mine Believes In Me and asked me to do so..

I’m a single father I was never meant to be a father pretty sure I couldn’t have children for eight years in our marriage how is losing my stepfather the only man I knew was a father and that was for a very short time.So I grew up without one When my soon-to-be ex-wife came to mean to tell me that she was pregnant with another man’s child and that he wouldn’t take responsibility wanted nothing to do with the child, I was heartbroken thinking of this child growing up without a father and I couldn’t stand it.

We eventually would dissolve the divorce and I decided to raise this little girl on my own. Two years after that my son came along, which happen to not be mine either. That didn’t matter she was mine and he will be mine as well.  I have watched these children become the most amazing beautiful people you have ever seen in your life. I watch them fail, I watch them hurt, and I watch them succeed. I’ve been there every step of the way because that’s what we do as parents, we love them or protect them and we allow them to make mistakes, we allow them to fail, we allow them to learn from those mistakes as we never let them fall completely. We’re always there to teach them to get back up and fight again, to keep going to keep pushing.

I don’t have children of my own biologically but I have to the two most beautiful children in the world. I honestly believe there is nothing more important in the world to be a parent and everybody should have that opportunity. I didn’t and thank God for other people’s mistakes misfortunes and ignorance or else I may never have had this opportunity with them in my life. I count my blessings everyday; for the chaos, the mess, the turmoil, the love and the laughter. Everything about them has been a blessing in my life and let me tell you my life wasn’t easy I honestly believe these children saved it. I wasn’t the best person before they came around but I can tell you today I’m a good person because of them, you would be surprised how much you can learn from a child that you can never learn from an adult. No love like the love for your child.

RHONDA PALMER

Rhonda is an outstanding mother! She took on her role just a few years ago, and has a connection with her children that goes above and beyond any “step” category. She runs a tight ship in her home as all of her kids have different activities they’re interested in. Her eldest son is a competitive, aspiring pro dirt-bike rider that competes regularly and requires much travel. Her daughter is active in competitive swimming and often has meets. Her youngest son is following in his brothers footsteps in showing an interest in dirt bikes, as well as the occasional scooter trick. She works hard in making sure their needs are met, schedules are kept, as well as having a full time career. Did I mention is also an Air Force Veteran, and holds her BA? Rhonda is extremely intelligent, sets an amazing example for her kids, and is outspoken.

CORLYN JO NELSON

Corlyn is an amazing mother. She is kicking off this month with her oldest heading into kindergarten as we all can relate so scary to us parents yet so exciting for the child. New beginnings she works through also carrying a very demanding 3 year old (4 this October).

As those two do not keep Corlyn on her toes enough she is a working single parent, putting herself through school, and a great friend and family member. Sunday’s are spent with her sister, nephew, children and mother. Swimming and BBQ-ing in the heat or watching movies and cooking inside Corlyn strives on great family values.

We want to highlight this lady here and her great parenting ways. As we all have no clue what we are doing, watching Miss Corlyn stumble through and keep up gracefully has been a splendid experience.
